A SHORT WINTER Bled, 2006 Video: 2:20 Lake Bled,
situated between high mountains, is the most touristic spot in Slovenia.
It presents a very picturesque setting, with a church
and bell tower on a little island in the middle of the lake. Many
people like to compare it to a Swiss landscape. This year the winter
was very
cold and the lake was frozen. In the video I am dancing in high-heel
shoes in the middle of the lake, with a big ball in my hands. The
lake's sudden transformation from ice to water does not seem to surprise
me as I find myself suddenly
swimming. The world - and our perspective on it - is in a constant
state of change, so that often things are not the way we see them.
There is also an allusion to climate change: Who knows when the lake
will be frozen again?
